Should I increase my monthly investments during a market downturn?

I've been investing £200 monthly in a global index fund through Vanguard for about 8 months now. With all the negative market news lately and seeing my investments drop, I'm wondering if I should actually be investing more each month while prices are lower?

I can probably stretch to £300-350 monthly without affecting my emergency fund. I keep reading about "buying the dip" but as a beginner, I'm not sure if this is smart.

Would love to hear from more experienced investors - what do you typically do during market downturns?

Thanks in advance!
