Which broker is safest for first-time investor with £1000?

Hi everyone,

I've have managed to save around £1k that I'd like to put into some stocks or funds. However, I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the different brokers out there (Hargreaves Lansdown, AJ Bell, Trading 212, etc.).

My main concern is security - I want to make sure my money is safe and I'm using a legitimate platform and would really appreciate some guidance on which broker would be best for a complete beginner?
