The L&G Artificial Intelligence UCITS ETF (AIAI) seeks to provide investors with targeted exposure to companies involved in the development, deployment and enablement of artificial intelligence by tracking the ROBO Global Artificial Intelligence Index TR. The fund is an accumulating, physically replicated UCITS ETF denominated in USD that aims to hold a diversified portfolio of equities across areas such as AI software and services, semiconductor and compute infrastructure, cloud and data centre providers, sensors and automation companies, and other firms that derive material revenue from AI technologies. Its operating costs are in line with thematic ETFs and the fund is managed by Legal & General Investment Management. Returns are principally driven by technology adoption trends—demand for compute, specialised chips, AI software and cloud services—and by earnings growth at large and mid-cap firms exposed to AI. The main risks are sector and concentration risk, higher valuations typical of thematic strategies, and rapid technological or regulatory change. The ETF is typically used as a thematic satellite allocation for investors seeking growth from AI exposure, understanding it can be more volatile than broad-market funds.
