VanEck Semiconductor UCITS ETF (Acc) (SMGB) is a physically replicated, SFDR Article 8 UCITS ETF that seeks to track the MVIS US Listed Semiconductor 10% Capped ESG Index. The fund provides pure‑play exposure to global companies that derive at least half their revenues from semiconductors or semiconductor equipment, concentrating on liquid, large‑cap names listed primarily in the US and Asia. Returns are driven by semiconductor cycle dynamics, including demand for chips across data centers, AI, mobile, automotive and the capital‑expenditure cycle for fab and equipment suppliers. The fund is relatively concentrated: a small number of manufacturers and equipment makers account for a large share of assets, so performance can be dominated by a few stocks and is highly cyclical and sensitive to supply‑chain, geopolitical and end‑market shifts. It is most useful for investors seeking targeted industry exposure or a tactical overweight to the semiconductor sector rather than broad market diversification.
